Some organisms have outlasted empires, ice ages, and entire civilizations without ever making a single headline. Scientists use tree rings, radiocarbon dating, and genetic clock analysis to estimate how long these ancient trees, meadows, and animals have quietly endured. That age places its germination before the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza, making it one of the oldest single, non-clonal trees ever verified.
Its exact position within the forest is kept secret to protect it from vandalism, so visitors can walk among the gnarled, wind-scoured trunks without ever learning which one holds the record.
