10 most powerful pickups, led by a 1,025-horsepower Rivian

Horsepower has become the new bragging right in the pickup aisle, and electric motors have rewritten the leaderboard. Rankings built from manufacturer figures show battery trucks at the top, with heavy-duty diesels and a Japanese half-ton filling out the rest. Here are ten pickups that make the most power available today.

1. Rivian R1T Quad: Tri-Motor Torque

The range-topping R1T Quad churns out 1,025 horsepower, which an SlashGear horsepower ranking pairs with a 0-60 mph time of 2.5 seconds. That is the highest output among the ten pickups here, and it sits 25 horsepower above the next entry.

A truck that reaches 60 mph in 2.5 seconds gives owners acceleration that few sedans can match, while still carrying a bed. The figure belongs to the Quad configuration specifically, so buyers considering lower Rivian versions should expect less. Anyone shopping on power alone starts the search here.

2. GMC Hummer EV pickup: Electric Super Truck

Rated at 1,000 horsepower in 2025 Hummer EV 3X form, GMC’s electric pickup takes the runner-up spot, according to an iSeeCars electric truck table. Only the Rivian beats that number, and the gap between the two is just 25 horsepower.

The output comes from the top 3X version, so shoppers eyeing a lower Hummer trim should not assume the same figure. Even so, a four-digit horsepower rating on a production pickup remains rare, and this one comes from a mainstream American brand.

3. Tesla Cybertruck: Cyberbeast Muscle

The Cyberbeast trim of Tesla’s angular pickup makes 845 horsepower, which SlashGear’s pickup ranking notes is more than the leading offerings from Chevy and Ford. That margin explains its third-place finish behind the Rivian and the Hummer.

Buyers who want the most power from the Cybertruck need to pick the Cyberbeast specifically, since the number belongs to that trim. Against Detroit’s best, the Tesla offers a clear advantage on paper, even though it trails both of the top two. Its 845 horsepower is still 180 short of the Rivian’s total.

4. Chevrolet Silverado EV: Power Past 750

Chevrolet’s electric Silverado delivers 760 horsepower in 2025 LT and RST form, according to an iSeeCars horsepower comparison. That puts it fourth, 85 horsepower behind the Cybertruck’s Cyberbeast and well above the Ford electric truck.

Two separate trims share the same output, so shoppers do not need a top-priced version to reach it. For owners coming from conventional trucks, a jump to 760 horsepower marks a big leap, and the rating stays a few points ahead of the GMC Sierra EV.

5. GMC Sierra EV: AT4 Brings 750

GMC lists the 2025 Sierra EV AT4 at 750 horsepower, per iSeeCars electric truck data. The figure places the truck fifth, only ten horsepower short of the Chevrolet Silverado EV that shares its battery-truck mission.

The number applies to the AT4 trim in particular, so other Sierra EV versions were not part of this ranking. Shoppers comparing the two General Motors electric pickups will find the power gap small enough that features and price likely matter more. At 750 horsepower, it still finishes well clear of the Ford electric truck.

6. Ford F-150 Lightning: Lightning at 580

Ford’s electric F-150 produces 580 horsepower in 2025 Lariat, Platinum and Pro form, based on iSeeCars figures. That rating lands sixth, 170 horsepower behind the GMC Sierra EV and 180 behind the Silverado EV.

Three trims reach the same figure, which keeps the shopping decision simple for buyers focused on output. The gap to the GM trucks is notable, yet 580 horsepower still sits comfortably above the combustion-powered heavy-duty trucks listed further down the ranking. Its 580 horsepower still lands 80 above the Ford Super Duty’s ceiling, a gap buyers can weigh.

Ford’s Super Duty offers up to 500 horsepower in 2023 F-350 and F-450 form, a number reported in a WOODTV pickup ranking of the most powerful trucks available. It is the first combustion-powered entry on the list.

The 500-horsepower ceiling applies to the F-350 and F-450 together, so lower-output engines remain on offer. Owners who tow heavy loads get a rating that sits 80 horsepower below the electric F-150 Lightning, yet well above the heavy-duty trucks from General Motors. That ceiling is exactly 100 horsepower above the 2024 Tundra’s peak figure.

8. GMC Sierra 3500HD: Dually Muscle

The 2024 Sierra 3500HD makes 470 horsepower, a figure listed in a WOODTV ranking of trucks that places it eighth overall. That is 30 horsepower less than the top Ford Super Duty and 20 more than the Tundra.

As a one-ton model, it targets buyers who need heavy-duty capability rather than electric speed. Its output edges past the Toyota half-ton, but shoppers focused solely on peak power will find several rivals ahead of it. Its 470 horsepower also lands 69 above the Silverado 2500HD, the last entry.

9. Toyota Tundra: Tundra Tops Out

Toyota’s full-size pickup peaks at 450 horsepower in 2024 form, according to the WOODTV horsepower roundup. That ranks ninth, and it is the only Japanese-brand truck among the ten ranked here.

The word peak matters, because 450 is the maximum rather than the output for every Tundra. Even so, the number holds its own against heavy-duty competition, and it sits just 49 horsepower above the Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD at the bottom of the list. The Tundra’s 450 also trails the Sierra 3500HD by 20 horsepower.

10. Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD: Last on the List

The 2024 Silverado 2500HD packs 401 horsepower, the lowest figure among the ten pickups, as the WOODTV pickup ranking reports. It trails the leading Rivian by 624 horsepower.

Even the last-place entry clears 400 horsepower, which shows how high the bar sits for this ranking. Buyers should treat the figure as a ranking position rather than a weakness, since every truck listed ahead of it is rated higher on paper. That leaves the model 49 horsepower behind the Tundra, the closest rival above it.
